Business Philosophy
- The devil is in the details.
- Error-free work may not be routinely possible, but if you strive for less, you'll get a LOT less.
- No good comes of accepting work assignments outside one's area of expertise.
- An unpleasant truth has more value than the most pleasant untruth.
- To make a football analogy, the "fancy Dan" plays become easier AFTER you've mastered blocking and tackling.
Every detail of every project we do is important. The services we offer require attention to detail. When we
make changes to, for example, a QuickBooks® company file or a PowerPoint® file, those changes can affect
other parts of the file, which must then be adjusted to compensate for the first change. We're committed to
producing error-free work and to the concept that there is no unimportant work.
As we mention on our
FAQ page, we don't file taxes for our QuickBooks® clients. Neither do we offer advice on tax
planning, tax strategies or corporate compliance. We're not qualified to offer those services, while CPAs, Enrolled
Agents, attorneys and others are well qualified. Our accounting mission is to save money for our clients, by
helping them produce an accurate digital accounting record, which they can then deliver to the professional of
their choice for tax filing or other consultation. The work we do, if performed by a CPA practice, would cost
between three and ten times our fee.
We are forthright with our clients, even when the truth is painful. In one instance, our client needed a sweeping
revision of his QuickBooks® company file. Upon reconciling business checking, we discovered that he had made serious
errors in postings to Business Checking, well before he hired us. His checking balance was $25,586.00 LESS than he
thought. Our call to inform our client of this news was a difficult one to make; nonetheless, it had to be made.
The most basic function (blocking and tackling) of business accounting is recording cash in and cash out, to assure
accurate balances in business checking. When we begin work on a company file, we move incrementally from the most
basic to the more complex. This method assures that our clients get the most critical information (and training)
first.
Your accounting needs might be less urgent or drastic than some we've seen. If you've done a pretty good job of
recordkeeping and want us to review your work, we're glad to help. If your accounting situation is so bad that it
seems hopeless, please remember: There is no accounting "mess" too big for us. The key is to get started on the
cleanup and learn how to avoid future mistakes.
We look forward to hearing from you. We promise you a respectful, no-nonsense approach to your QuickBooks® concerns,
and the best QuickBooks® accounting help in Atlanta.
